Makerere University Special Graduation Ceremony

Makerere University will hold its Special Graduation Ceremony on Friday 22nd July 2011 in the Main Hall, Main Building. This is a fulfillment of the pledge made during the 61st Graduation Ceremony, held from 17th – 21st January 2011.

The Chancellor, Professor George Mondo Kagonyera will confer degrees and award diplomas to 1,190 graduands, of whom 705 are male and 485 are female. Out of the total number of 1,190 graduands, eleven (11) will receive PhDs.

The special graduation ceremony will be held in two sessions as detailed below:

First Session 9.00am – 10.30am      

  1. All PhDs and Masters                                    
  2. College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences
  3. College of Engineering, Art,  Design and Technology
  4. College of Computing and Information Science 
  5. College of Business and Management Sciences        

Second Session 11.00am– 1.00pm

  1. College of Education and External Programs                       
  2. College of Health Sciences  
  3. College of Natural Sciences 
  4. School of Law                                   
  5. School of Veterinary Medicine 
  6. College of  Humanities and Social Sciences  
  7. MUBS                                                            

Invitation Cards

Each graduand is allowed one invitation card for two of his/her selected guests only. Graduands will be required to submit the names of the two guests they wish to invite for the ceremony and thereafter their invitation cards will be issued.  Cards and graduation booklets will be collected starting today, 18th July, 2011 at Senate Building.

Graduation Fees

Graduands shall be required to pay graduation fees as detailed below

Undergraduates………………….……. Shs   90,000/=

Postgraduates………………………….. Shs   80,000/=

PhDs………………………….……………… Shs 110,000/= 

International students the fee should be an equivalent of US$ 170.
